First Try

Brief:
Create mockups for the front cover and contents pages of two issues of the same fashion magazine aimed at a sophisticated target audience of ages 16-25.

The ethnicity and gender of your target audience is open to your own choice. However, you need to be cognisant about the availability of potential models should you choose to go from 'found image' mock up to original production.

Tasks:
i) Find an existing magazine that fulfills the brief and carefully consider the generic features and house style.

ii) Find images that will allow you to construct the cover and contents pages using either Adobe Photoshop 3 or Adobe Illustrator, or a combination of the two.

iii) Carefully consider the representation you wish to convey.

iv) Combine anchoring text and image in a dynamic way to fulfil the brief.

  1. Hello Billy,

You've done loads of work here and I particularly like the way you have tried to break the mold and go for something more alternative. I'm not sure your font choices particularly match your idea, but the overall attention to layout and design on the covers shows good understanding of the material.

Contents pages need a little more attention, especially thinking about things like columns and other linear features, but overall a good job. Nice first attempt.

Great image choices too. I love Gaga with the O round her head.

  2. Hello Billy,

You've made it a little difficult for me to post a comment on the progress of your video production by not having a post about it. Try to have everything online by the end of tomorrow's lesson. It's important that you don't let yourself lag behind. Coursework is like elastic, it stretches to fit the time you have. Unfortunately, if you end up rushing at the end you never produce something of the quality you would like.
